frequently asked questions

What should I do first?

You should take some time to view my portfolio and after that, let's talk about how I can create beautiful images like those for you and your family.

How do I schedule a session?

When you’re ready to book, just email me. Space is limited and weekends fill up first, so I recommend booking as soon as possible.

Do you charge for travel?

No, I do not charge for travel. I generally keep my appointments within 30 miles of Hedgesville, WV.

Where should we have our session?

I like to go where ever my clients and their families love being together. Don't have a location? That's okay!! Depending on where you are located, I have a locations I love using. When you book your session we will discuss what ideas you have for your shoot and that will help determine what type of setting you want. It could be anywhere from a park with flowers and greenery, downtown store fronts, an urban look with alleys and buildings, or a themed session like going to your favorite ice cream shop, playing a game of putt-putt or mini golf, or swimming in your backyard pool. The sky is the limit! Please note that newborn sessions always take place in the comfort of your own home.

What should we wear?

A quick Google search of what to wear for your specific portraits will bring up hundreds of helpful ideas for you. I always tell my clients to coordinate, but don’t get matchy-matchy. Layers and accessories are wonderful. Pay attention to shoes. And above all else, stay true to yourselves and make sure your kids are comfortable!

What should we bring?

For full sessions, bring a change of clothes. Even if you’re not planning to use multiple outfits during your shoot, it’s always good to have an extra set in case of emergency. Bring water and a snack (something quick and mess-free). Your child’s favorite stuffed animal, blanket or toy, any special props you want to include, and a treat or bribe if you want to use one.

Can you edit out the scratch on my baby’s face?

Yes. The images in your finished gallery will be artistically finished. I edit each image individually and one of the steps I go through is removing blemishes like scratches, zits and marks.

What if the weather is bad?

In the unfortunate event of a significant chance of rain during a scheduled outdoor session, I will contact you the night before or morning of your appointment to reschedule. Cloudy overcast skies are great for photography and will not need rescheduling.
